Dearborn, MI – Edw. C. Levy Co. (“Levy”) has become aware of a data security incident that may have impacted personal information belonging to certain individuals. Levy is not aware of any evidence to suggest that any information has been misused. 

On November 1, 2023, Levy was victimized by a sophisticated ransomware attack that impacted its network. Upon discovery, Levy immediately began working with its I.T. team and third-party forensic specialists to investigate the full nature and scope of the incident. Levy also reported this incident to federal law enforcement. Through the investigation, Levy learned that certain files, kept in the normal course of business, may have been subject to unauthorized access during the incident. Upon discovery, with the assistance of third-party specialists, Levy immediately began a comprehensive and time-intensive review of the impacted files to determine the type of information contained therein and to whom that information related.

This review was recently completed on December 15, 2025. Following the comprehensive and time-intensive analysis, Levy determined that information contained in the affected data set may have included personally identifiable information (“PII”). The type of information contained within the affected data set may include a first and last name, in combination with one or more of the following: Social Security number, driver’s license or state identification number, date of birth, medical diagnosis or treatment information, health insurance information, and/or financial account number.

At this time, Levy is not aware of any evidence to suggest that any information has been fraudulently misused. However, in an abundance of caution, Levy is notifying potentially impacted individuals of this incident. Although Levy has no reason to believe any individual’s information has been or will be misused as a result of this incident, individuals are nonetheless encouraged to monitor their account statements for suspicious activity and to detect errors.
